Who Am I?

I am me, Melodie Mulder. I'm an aspiring writer of YA and a blogger who mostly loves to talk about movies and tv shows. I love reading and watching stories unfold and have always dreamed of creating my own. I've written on and off over the years but now I just really want to get back into it and go full force because writing gives me a release and makes me feel good.

I used to run the blog Blinvy's Teenage Wasteland where I explored my love of the YA/Teen genre. It was a lot of fun and I want to continue my unfinished projects from that blog over here. Why did I go by Blinvy? Well, anonymity on the internet felt safe at the time and it's an online handle that I've used for years, or at least the shorthand version of it. RhymesWithBlinvisible is the full handle. Where does it come from? Well, dear readers, it comes from one of my favourite shows, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ironically, it comes from my least favourite season of the show (season 6) in the episode where Buffy becomes invisible. The following exchange happens:

WILLOW: Buffy's broken?

XANDER: Will, you know what I'm talki - You don't know. Rhymes with ... 'blinvisible'?

WILLOW: What?

XANDER: Buffy was in town, leaving the haircutting place, when she suddenly just-

WILLOW: Buffy got her hair cut?

XANDER: (sarcastic) Yeah! Adorable, apparently. I personally couldn't tell, since she's all 'blinvisible.'

And thus, my internet handle was born. Being the nerd that I am, I also joined a Buffy message board and the shorthand Blinvy was created by my friends there because who wants to type out RhymesWithBlinvisible every time they want to talk to me?

Since I started really getting into my writing and publishing my first book to Radish Fiction, titled Lost Souls, I decided it was time to part with my internet handle and just post as myself and here we are. I hope you get some enjoyment out of this blog, whether it's because you like my recaps or reviews or hopefully because you like my stories. If you do enjoy what I do, please consider subscribing to me either here or my Twitter @RhymesWthBlinvy so that you can keep up with when I post.

Thanks for stopping by, dear reader.
